Thus it can be concluded that learning the language should not be difficult for Indonesians, especially for adults. Because since childhood, most Indonesians have learned more than one language at the same time and it turned out just fine.

As an officer in Religious Court, there is not much time to learn English formally in an English education institute. Then how can we speak English properly and correctly? Here is few of steps dan we can use to make it more fluent to speak in English:

1.     Start speaking English as much as possible

The one thing we absolutely have to do to speak English fluently is get more speaking practice. Almost all advice on achieving our fluency goals will eventually come down to this. Nothing else we can do is as effective, or as important.

Although Indonesia is a country where spoken English is not common, finding opportunities to practice can be difficult. So, try some of these methods:

a.      Find a partner who can have conversations in English as much as possible.

b.     Use English learning apps with speech recognition software.

c.      Connect with a small group with the same interest in learning English.

d.     Sign for English training.

2.     Expose ourself to English every single day

If we want to speak English fluently, it’s vital to get as much exposure to English as possible. We should be doing something in English every day, even if we’re not actively studying. There are simple changes we can make to our environment to help expose ourself to English:

a.      Change our phone/social media/tablet settings to English

b.     Listen to English music

c.      Read the news in English

d.     Commit to watching TV shows and movies in English

This technique is called “language immersion.” It’s a great way to get used to the sounds and text of a new language and to reinforce what we have learned.

3.     Don’t focus too much on English grammar

Native speakers disobey the rules of their own language all of the time. This is something we’ll know if we’ve ever had to type out a recording of a spoken English conversation.

Grammar rules are useful to be aware of — they’re essential to study at some point. But they should be lower down our list of priorities than getting English-speaking practice.

All the steps above can be done by officers in Religious Court in their spare time without disturbing the work hour. But that step can only be effective based on our willingness, spirit and desire to learn English. And after all that steps done regularly on daily basis, our skill in speaking English will increase significantly and will be useful for our own good.
